AIS V5035 Class A Transceiver

The Simrad V5035 is a fully featured Class-A AIS transponder system, IMO type approved for use aboard SOLAS vessels. As a standalone solution with an integrated display and included GPS antenna, junction box, and pilot plug assembly, the V5035 cost-effectively delivers a complete solution requiring only a VHF antenna to be procured separately. The V5035 offers support for multiple external sensors and integration with Simrad navigation and charting systems, external GPS receivers, radar systems, voyage data recorders, and other NMEA 0183®/2000® devices.

IMO Type Approved Class-A AIS for SOLAS Vessels

SOLAS carriage requirements mandate Class-A Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) to be fitted aboard all ships, on international voyages, 300 GT and upwards; all cargo ships, both international or domestic, 500 GT and upwards; and all passenger ships, international or domestic, regardless of size. The Simrad V5035 is a complete package solution with IMO-type approval to meet AIS requirements aboard SOLAS vessels.

Safety & Awareness

Adding AIS to navigation for spontaneous 'ship to ship' or 'ship to shore' recognition greatly enhances safety at sea and provides mariners with new levels of real-time information. AIS systems allow you to receive an instant overview of traffic situations and the maneuvers of other ships and make contact with other ships easily by using the call signs presented on the AIS display. Detailed information on AIS-enabled ships helps Navigation in radar blind zones.

Standalone Operation

The Simrad V5035 is a compact bracket or panel-mount unit with an integrated 3.5-inch color LCD screen, multifunction rotary dial, and a six-button keypad. The V5035 can be configured and operated without any external display or controller and provides AIS information to the operator in the basic coastline, radar-style, alphanumeric (textual list of contacts), and satellite display modes.

Complete AIS Solution with Comprehensive Connectivity

The V5035 ships with a junction box providing three bi-directional NMEA 0183® ports and NMEA 2000® bus for connection to multiple external sensors (e.g. heading, gyroscope), and sharing of AIS data for display by navigation systems such as the Simrad GN70, MX610, or MX612, and ECS/ECDIS including the Simrad E5000 series. The V5035 also includes a complete pilot plug assembly for connection to a Personal Pilot Unit (PPU).
